Izakaya Miyako, in business since 1978, is an old-fashioned izakaya run by the proprietor, a native of Miyako City, Iwate Prefecture. After graduating from a fisheries school, he moved to Kiso because trout farming was thriving in Nagano Prefecture. Later, he decided to set up his current restaurant because he wanted to offer his cuisine. Deep-fried octopus, edible frogs, and shellfish are especially recommended by the owner. Customers wishing to order nabe or suppon dishes or more than 5 people are requested to make reservations in advance. Menu and prices are subject to change depending on season and availability.
