Kisoji no Yado Iwaya is a purely Japanese style onsen ryokan located along the Kiso River at Fukushima-juku on the Nakasendo Highway. Since the mid-Edo period, the inn has been a favorite of guests traveling along the Kiso Road. The open-air bath on the top floor is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the changing mountain scenery of the four seasons. The one-day hot spring baths are also popular for guests after walking along the Nakasendo trail or climbing Mount Ontake and Mount Komagatake. We offer a variety of local cuisine that makes the best use of seasonal ingredients for local production for local consumption. The main dish, Shinshu Alps Beef, is available in your choice of "steak," "sukiyaki," or "shabu-shabu. In the fall, we offer Matsutake mushroom dishes locally produced in Mochiyama.
